3 inches of ice on th ground an bout 4-5 inches of snow on th ice. Don't seem th least bit unusual accordin ta my 'kid' memries, but it's not so normal nowdays here. Lots of newer style roofs gittin tested perty good. This is a real 'wet' snow; lotsa weight an water to it! How's everbody gittin along in it?

I got most of the trees and brush cleaned up but I have alot more trimming to do as soon as I can get up in the trees, right now I'm not too keen on climbing up in them.lol Here's one of my houses that still has some limbs ready to fall. Here's a couple pic's of one of our other houses, this is the one where I'm having to work on the electric entry line.Even after I get the house hooked back up We're on a long list waiting for them to hook up the other end to the pole,it took all that out too.All these pictures were after we cleaned up the major carnage.I nevr thought to take a picture before I started cleaning up. Here is some timber across the street. Some of those bigger trees you see are bigger than one person can reach around. They snapped like twigs. this gives you an idea of the size of them that snapped.this one was fell across the street.

Yea,it's been quite a job.Luckily I haven't got that much of a mess up here at the lake.I have some monster white oaks in my yard up here and I'm going to figure out a way to trim them or cut them down because I would hate to see them come down on the house up here.I haven't figured out how to trim them yet because most of them are about 30-40 feet up before you get to the first limb and they are within 15-20 feet of my house.

They make good firewood but these would make some dandy logs too! I know how to top them but....I'm not as agile and graceful as I once was when it comes to climbing up in em'....lol

Yep,I could enjoy the fishin equipment alot more right now but I'm hoping the rental houses will keep me fed a little better in my golden years.lol!Right now though I'm starting to question that line of thinkin'... Well, I've put it off long as I could this morning so I guess I'm off to Lebanon once again.I'm hoping after today I won't have to fool with Laclede county again for a while. At least with all the mess down there they aren't enforcing the rule about electricians being licensed.I would hate to be on a waiting list waiting for an electrician to get me hooked up,it seems they are in pretty high demand right now down there.I'll be back on here tonight providing the good Lord is willing.....

In that one pic your weatherhead is ripped off. But your meter is on the house itself with the weatherhead running down to the meter box. Technicly untill it reachs the meter thats laclede electrics responsibility, weatherhead or not. Make them fix it. It don't turn into 'yours' untill it passes the meter. Lebanon to springfield and buffalo to marshfield got hammered pretty d@mn hard. Course springfield got all the emergency shipments of generators, kerosene ect and the national guard. lebanon got a bit. The rest got left hanging. Still a lot of stuff around here in short supply. Still aint seen no national guard and only one meals on wheels red cross truck. Would'nt mind laying my hands on a couple case each of the heater meals and MRE's though...lol According to CU in springfield they estimated they had enough debris to cover 40 acres 27 feet deep. No idea about marshfield and it was officialy known as 'Tree City USA'. It got slammed about as bad as my timber and moms place. Cut n hauled about 15 truckloads in the last 3 days and ive probably got another 10 just to get the yard and barnyard cleaned up. That don't include two 30 inch thick oaks uprooted in the barnyard or the limbs ive still got to get out of the tree's. Don't even want to talk about my 80 acres of timber, the fences or the cabin i still have'nt went and looked at.

Yea,in the picture I had already got the meter reattached to the house and wired back in to the breaker box.It ripped the meter off the house along with the conduit. The city might have got around to fixing it but I got tired of waiting.I figured after 10 days my renters would be glad to have electric.Funny within 30 minutes of hooking that up and calling it in,they found time to hook me back up to the pole.I have 2 houses right there next door to each other and the other one was out of power due to being ripped loose from the pole. They kept saying we were on the waiting list but they couldn't find time to hook it up until I got in and done most of the work, then they were right there to turn it back on.lol. Typical

Man was smart he would watch at tax time. be a lot of generators for sale with very low use on them. Buy about 10 or 12 good ones up cheap, service them a bit and store em back. Make him a lil money next big storm come through.
Im going to see about haveing webster electric put a pigtail into my system where i can just plug the generator straight into the house. Had the money id like to get a bigger one and wire it in. 15000kw only cost about 5 grand...lol But it would run everything i needed includeing the heater and well....lol

I don't know where I would put 10 or 12 of them, the one I have is in the way most of the time.lol I bought mine about 8 years ago to use at my deer camp to run electric heat and color tv(lol! you know roughing it). It's 5800 watts,7500 peak I think with a 11 hp motor. It will run about all I need for most occasions. It has a 5 gallon fuel tank and will run about 36 hours on that with a 1500 watt heater and all my other gadgets in the camper and that is in COLD weather with the heater seldom kicking off. They are real handy when you need them but most of the time mine is just collecting dust. It's been about 3 years since I could get around well enough to go hunting so it hasn't got much use lately.

Poor devil I seen on '10' last nite picked up a bunch of that kinda stuff in K.C. an brought it back to Rogersville. I think it falls inta th realm of supply an demand, but sure as hell, somebody reported him fer price gouging. Probly some retailer who couldn't supply th need an had'em on order. I hope if that's th case, he gets stuck with'em fer 40 years! The part that I found more interstin was that this ol' boy could pay fer I believe it was 56 generators, an about that many kerosene heaters, AND kerosene! He raises GOATS....... Makes me wonder if ol' donkey may be th next J.P. Morgan! Sure hope he don't buy up this burg an make me move out!
