What's everybody using these days?I have been using the propane lanterns and campstove for about 10 years now and really like the ease of use.No more pumping and working on the generators to keep them running.I still have a White gas lantern or two put back I should get out and use though rather than let them sit.I have a couple of the old campstoves I think I will convert over to propane now.

Yeah we use mostly propane, but our peak stoves are white gas. Either one is really nice.

i still have a white gas 2 burner stove but i love propane , my lanterns are 2 mantle propane with electronic ingnition i really like them. i had a bad experience when i was dumber. i had white gas spilled on me and when i went to light the lantern i went up like a christmas tree. we were camping by the lake so instead of stop, drop and roll i ran into the lake. i spent the rest of the night with my arm in the ice chest. we were 13 year old kids dropped off at camp without a ride. humm the reason im still alive is because God loves me.

Propane and rechargeable battery lanterns mostly. I've got about 4 white gas lanterns as well. Was 5 until the generator on one leaked in camp one night. Got interesting especialy as i was guideing a lady on a turkey hunt and i was lighting the lantern at the time. Needless to say i did'nt have to shave my hands that week, scared the feces out of her and a water doused lantern globe likes to crack...lol
I like the coleman propane lanterns for tracking deer. Can't remember the model but it's bright and really makes the blood show up. Lasts a good 8 hours on about half power and a good 4 hours on full burn from a 1lb tank. Need to get me another one.

In addition to using the propane lanterns I have a couple of the cheap kerosene lanterns I like to hang in the trees around camp.I can turn them about half way up and they will burn a couple nights on about a cup full of lamp fuel.I buy the bottles of fuel like you get at Wal-mart for the lamps in the house. They work real well for extra light around the outside edges of camp.

naaa, but when you have women and kids that need to see their way around to "the tree" you know the one with the little white flags around lol!.It keeps you from stumbling around in the dark and you don't have to use the flashlight every time you have to get something from the truck.

Thats why i take the battery powered lanterns. Good walking light and don't have an open flame or get hot to burn them.

Id like to find some of the big batteries. Don't remember if they was 6V or 12V. You know the ones with a big spot on one end and a red light on the other. Could make it constant or make it blink. Heavy d@mn things but they put out the light and lasted a good long while. Found two of the tops like brand new at a yard sale for next to nothing. Can't find the batteries now though.
