This is just something I am trying out.I don't know if it will be permanent it just depends on how it works out and whether it is useful. If it works out I may add other locations. In any of the boxes is a spot where you can type in city, state or zipcode to find your preferred area.

This should be real handy for folks. Thanks! I purchased a weather alert radio and love it! I programed it for Hickory and surrounding counties. It is a portable unit so I take it on the boat with me. Does anyone else use these? Mine has an alarm that automatically sounds an alert.

I bought my Mom a wx-alert radio like that about a year ago,she really likes it.I programmed Webster and Wright County in it for her and then She later learned how to put Morgan County in so now She calls me when it goes off for my county.lol!I don't get too excited about storms or as my Mom puts it "don't have the sense to take shelter",she says that about dad too.lolWhen it storms She will go a spare bedroom in their basement and Dad stays put where He's at.At our house if it's bad I will take shelter sometimes but if I'm down here at my trailer at the lake I don't have much of a place to go.Here at the lake I'm a couple hundred feet below most all my surroundings so it would be rare for a tornado to touch down but the wind might get bad and I have several white oak trees around 75-100 ft. tall in the yard that worry me sometimes.I would top them but it is about 40 feet or more to the first limb on them and my extension ladder won't reach and I don't think the cherry-pickers you rent would get me up there either.Cutting them down isn't a option now that my trailer is here and the electric line so I guess I will have to live with it.

Our cabin isn't much defense against a tornado. Our neighbor across the road has a storm shelter built into their garage and have offered to let us use it any time we feel the threat of a big blow. We will use it!
