They finaly did away with the stupid requirement where you had to go to the local sherriff to get permission to buy a pistol. Would'nt of been bad but a lot of sherriffs tried to play god and denied a lot of people whp could legaly purchase. Held a lot of other up for the maximum of 3 days they had to check backgrounds. Which is what the NICS was put into place for. Now you just go in, pass the NICS and leave with your purchase. The way it ought to be.
PLUS, the Castle Doctrine went into effect at midnight. You no longer have a duty to retreat if your in your home, in your car or even in your own yard. The perp if he/she survives NOR their family can sue you now for ventelateing them for threating your security. Bout time!

I'm glad they got it done,I had my doubts if either one would get signed and take effect. The "castle doctrine" is long overdue,We should have had that right all along.

Oh don't worry sinker, they will probably balls up something important to make up for it...lol
Yeah it's been a long time comeing. Man ought to be able to protect his home and property without worrying about being turned into the bad guy or getting sued for shooting someone who meant him harm. Now if they would just make concealed carry a licenseless affair like vermont. If your legal to buy you should be legal to carry without haveing to go through your local sherriffs hoops. You CAN already carry openly in MO. But who wants to advertise their carrying and make a bunch of antis nervous. Be nice to get rid of the stinking property tax as well.
