Yep, this is the day folks. First day of spring. Also the first day of fall. Take an ordinary raw egg and balance it on its big end. On a flat surface. IF yer steady enuff to balance a nickel, yer steady enuff to balance an egg during the equinox. Folks with parkinson's disease prolly should try it.
And yes you can use a store bought egg (for the city folks)lol

I do good to balance my checkbook,I think I'll stick to eating my eggs.lol!
I'm glad Spring is here, now if they would just raise the lake level I would be set. They should be bringing the lake back up within the next month,I just hope I can get caught up with my chores so I can enjoy it.I know this place has been pretty dead lately but I've had so much going on I just aint had a chance to get on here much.I'm usually swamped every spring and fall because I put off doing so many things in the summer and winter.
Hopefully I will get caught up soon and I will be able to post some fishing reports on here, they're starting to trickle in some now.

Seems like it's something all the time,I had been gone again for the last few days due to a death in the family(Buttons Niece).I got back home yesterday morning and decided to put the boat in for a while.Just about the time I got the pontoon in the water the wind picked up quite a bit.It was too windy to fish so we just enjoyed the day on the water. We put in at Gravois Mill and went down to Bagnell Dam and back.We got back to the dock just about dark and the wind had laid down and I started seeing some fish moving about but I was just too tired to stay and fish.

d@mn,it never seems to end.I got home tonight and had a phone call, one of my good friends I grew up with and ran around with, just died in his sleep.45 years old, don't know the details yet on the cause but I guess going in your sleep is better than alot of things that could happen. That makes 4 good friends in about 4 months. At this rate If I live much longer I won't have 6 friends left to carry me out.

I can balance an egg 365 days a year. Tap it a time or two on one end and it will always stand up!
Crappies biteing well below truman, 10-12 inch range. Girl brought home 60 sat night/ sun morning and a couple of small cats. Said they were biteing so fast you could'nt lay your rod down on the dock.
Morels are starting to pop to. maybe a dozen sat and 3/4 of a gallon at least today. Squirrels n such are eatting them to so you got to get at em. Look more tomorrow if it don't rain. Check the open creek bottoms. Besides ash tree's they seem to be favoring red oaks real good this year. Most came from out in the open or around the red oaks.

Grilled or broiled chuck steaks tonight(still got to fix my grill first) and a mess of shrooms. Back out this evening if it don't start to rain again. Got another lil patch of bottom i want to look at this evening before the d@mn cold front comes back in. Third warmest march on record and now we're looking at about 4 days in a row of frost or hard freeze. I got a feeling this spring and summer is going to be rough n dry again this year way things is going.

I know it's just part of life,I've lost friends here and there for years but it seems lately they are dropping left and right. Some of them I would guess it might be their lifestyle that caused it,I don't know that for sure because I settled down and moved away years ago.Others never drank or lived a fast life and they are dropping also,it just goes to show it will happen to all of us regardless of how we live.I know I won't get to choose how I go but if I could,it would be a BIG fish that drags me overboard when I'm about a 110 years old.

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, I MADE A FRIEND WITH A WOMAN LAST YEAR, AND FOR THREE MONTHS, WE WERE CLOSER THAN SISTERS, THEN ONE NIGHT, AFTER WE SPENT THE DAY TOGETHER, AND PLANED THE NEXT DAY, I TOOK HER HOME, AND LESS THEN 45 MINUTES LATER, SHE WAS HIT BY A CAR ON 13HWY, AND MANGLED. I FOUND OUT, THAT THE CAR THAT HIT HER, WAS GOING SO FAST, IT DISMIMBERED HER, AND LEFT HER ON THE HWY., IN THREE PIECES, AND JUST AS WE GOT OUT THERE, THE CORNER WAS JUST LEAVING. THIS WAS 8 MONTHS AGO, AND IT STILL HURTS TO TALK ABOUT IT, AND I STILL MISS HER, MORE AND MORE EACH DAY.
