Well I think I will be going to bass pro tomorrow.I'm getting up about 4 am and going to Springfield to see my Uncle in the hospital. His truck ran over him while he was opening/closing a gate while he was checking cattle.Broke his foot and messed up his back.Don't know all the details yet. I figure I will go pick up some hooks and sinkers while I'm up that way.

The trip up there about done me in.I got up and left out of here by 5am or a little before and left my cane in my Explorer and took the ole lady's car. After walking around in bass pro and then going to the hospital to see my uncle and walking about 3 miles around St.Johns I was just about to the point of having to crawl when I got home.I went straight to bed when I got home.I can barely get around today still. My uncle was doing pretty fair considering all that he went through. He is 70 years old,he had been checking cattle and got to a gate and got out to open it.His truck jumped out of park and started rolling down the hill.He ran and caught it but as he started to jump in the door knocked him down and I guess he hung on long as he could. It drug him a ways and scraped him up pretty bad dragging him across some rocks then I guess he let go and got run over by the front wheel as it was rolling backward. It broke his ankle and run up over his hip and crushed his spine I guess. He lives alone and was able to crawl down the hill to the truck and pull himself up in it somehow then drove himself to the house and crawled inside and called my folks. It could have been much worse I reckon.. .He's pretty spry for his age,to look at him you would guess him to be about 50,has all his hair and none of it is gray, and he could run,jog or do things I'm not capable of anymore. it's not a good picture but this is him sitting down talking to my mom(who also looks younger than me) he isn't facing the camera but you can tell he doesn't look 70,more like 45.this was taken in April this year.

It would be easy to spend $500 there if a person had it to spare.I would like to buy one of the new boats on closeout but that would go over like a lead balloon with the ole lady.lol!

Jack is his name.Yea he should be OK in a couple months maybe. They are going to put him through rehabilitation and he might not even have to have surgery. They wanted to operate on his back but he wants to wait and see if he can get by without it.

Id settle for the panfish stick steer for now. They have revamped it and i like it better then the old one. Now if they just made it in an 18 or 20 foot model. The new tracker pro all aluminum would'nt be bad either(one of the red ones, 17 or 18 foot)

If you need anything in the fishing dept. Go to see Carl. He has taken real good care of me a couple of times when I had problems. I even wrote the president of Bass Pro about his service. The President even took the time to write me back. I'm impressed!

That is pretty nice, most times the president of a big company like that can't even be reached, let alone take the time to answer back.I've always had good luck with BP I've been going there since they first opened.Johnny Morris had the customers best intrest in mind when he started much like Sam Walton did when he started Wal-Mart.Too bad Sam's kids weren't more like Dad....
