Only caught part of it tonight on the news but seems mars, saturn, jupiter and the cresent moon are supposed to do some 'danceing' of an evening the next couple of days. prime time is the evening of the 27th just after sunset. mars, jupiter and saturn are supposed to line up and almost set inside the cresent moon or so they said. have to start checking of an evening.

I always liked looking at the stars like that but here where I live I'm in a narrow box canyon and I have 75' tall white oaks all around me. I can go outside and hold both fists above my head and just about cover the entire part of the sky I can see.lol

I got to go down to the field to star gaze or over to dads. I got one or two holes in the canopy over my head here but i left every tree i could when i moved in here. Actualy got a couple i probably should of taken out but i took a chance on their size keeping them in the ground in high winds. I used to set my telescope up in the winter of a night cause the air is some much clearer then that during the summer. spent many a night looking at the moon, jupiter or saturn when the temp was about 20 degrees...lol

I used to do that alot before I moved up here. The place I sold in wright county was way up on a hilltop.Green Mtn. was the name of the place.I could sit in my yard and see the towers blinking from Fordland,Bendavis,Lynchburg,Manes, Ft. Leonerd Wood and over by lebanon.that tells you how far I could see, about 40 miles to the west and north and about 20 miles to the east and south.I think the elevation was close to 1600' only about 170 feet or so short of the highest in the state. Dove knob (just north of mtn grove) was about 10 miles south of me and It wasn't very far up hill to there. It is listed on maps as 1600 feet I think.
