I use one of the small Vector Smart chargers.It has a 2 amp charge or a 1 amp trickle to maintain a charge.It seems like I always cooked my deep cycle batteries with a regular auto charger.I slow charged my boat battery last fall before I parked it,then this Spring I was surprised to see I still had 12 volts charge in it after sitting all winter.

Mine is sposeta be a trickle charge but I think it's a fickle charger.
