i am building a camping trailer. i looked at new trailers , couldnt afford one right now. looked at used travel trailers. in my area they seem to be rediculously high. started looking into teardrops and decided they were to small. so i decided to build my own mini travel trailer. tonight i just finished the trailer rolling chasies. i used an axel and fenders ffrom an old mark twain ski boat trailer. repaccked the bearings aand installed new seals. sandblasted and painted frame, springs and fenders . installed new running lights and installed new saftey chains. more to follow.

A man can usualy fnid camper shells and even the older truck campers for next to nothing anymore. I've thought about finding a good 3/4 ton truck bed in good shape where the cab may of been mangled in a wreck or something. Weld a tongue on it. Then put a good cab over camper on it and pull it like a trailer. Be ok for one or two folks hunting or fishing. I really need to find a bumper pull one i can afford that will handle 3 or 4 comfortably with the girls. Especialy with all the garbage they seem to think they need to haul. Women!

wolfman thats what i wanted was a bumper pull . that is what i am building. its going to have a dinnet in the front with a tabel that drops between the seats and makes a king size bed. above that ii am building a fold down bunk for my youngin . the seats/bed will have storaage under neath it. just aft of the bed i am going to build an 24 wide x 18 deep x 6 ft tall pantry. across the isle from that will be a clothes /rod/gunrackcloset @ 24x18x6ft to the rear of the pantry will be a 24 inch cabinet to hold coleman stove pots and pans and such aa 110 v 5000 btu ac. and maybe a corner shelf near the entry door. the entry door will be in the back of the camper. just like you enter an overhead pu camper. it a good project i think. i also think im gonna bring the whole thing in for less than 1500 bucks . it will be all wood no paarticle board and no mdf board . there will probably be a lot of cedar and sassafrass in it
