My dad built a little cabin on his place about 5 years ago. It's not a log cabin but just a little 16x20 one room has a bed in the living room area and a wood cookstove he restored in the kitchen area.Mom has it set up with all her antiques and heirlooms that have been handed down through the generations. They use it for a guest house and then on the holidays when family comes down she fires up the wood cookstove to make the ham/turkey and has a dutch oven for the side dishes. It seems like the food tastes much better fixed in there. When you walk in it's like stepping back 100 years, everybody loves staying there. If I can think about it sometime I will take some pictures to post.

Yeehaw, I built one way back when I's bout yer age. Was 10X15 with a full loft you could stand in. Hadda wood stove, two cots upstairs an room for one downstairs. A fold down table, three winders an two doors. heres a pic of how it looks kinda like now. Theres several things I would do differently, now. The front porch posts are bout gone. well one is gone. Everything was hand made or from native wood. I think I mite be able to find a story I wrote about building it. I'll look for ya. I also have links to plans ya mite be able to use. I'll do some diggin. Lotsa memories were in that lil old cabin while growin up.

Lincoln was busy writin the Spaggetti'sbird address er some such. It's a perty good job, fer a couple of kids. Better than most adults could do. Course he had an advisor on site, at least some of the time, an that ol'boy was a man of contemplation! He always sed "Don't force parts......get a bigger hammer". I spect if he put 'is mind to it he could put a sickle bar on a airplane, so it could be useful like when ya wasn't flyin in it!

"4 score and 7 meatballs ago" lol! A bigger hammer is a neccissity when working on anything, when I was working on something the kids always knew what I needed when I told em to fetch me a B F H.
