If we had been 10 minutes later settin that line, we'da missed'em! Didn even give th goldfish a chance ta make theyselves at home! Hoot, Doug(that's my fishin buddy son), and I set a couple of trotlines this ev'nin, bout 7 pm. We set one line and while we were settin we had a bite. Bout 4 lb blue. We went back and checked the other line. Took off 9 more all put together inside 45 minutes. 5 lb or so down to 3 and one other little feller we threw back. If it gits any better'n this, I don't think I can stand it!!!

Sounds like you had a good trip.Maybe the bite will start picking back up now some. The water is still pretty nasty here from the rains. There is alot of sticks, logs and debris coming downstream. You can't put out a line without it getting hung up within a couple minutes here right now.Cooder and I went out about daylight this morning and fished till about 11 when it started getting hot.We caught a few crappie around the docks but didn't catch any catfish.Things should start picking up here anytime, the lake should about have the trash, logs, etc flushed out pretty soon. When you get tired of catching them over there you can scare a few of them downstream my way.lol

Whiskers, When I throw them little fellers back, I mean, when I release'em, I always make sure they're pointed downstream (and I giggle to m'self an think "There ya are, Whiskers!" We had 15 on this mornin, One was bout 8, one bout 6 1/2. Rest were tween 3 & 5. Had one fish completeley et up by th turtles! So far we ain't had no help runnin th lines. That always helps!

Buttons,Kitty Chaser and I stayed out anchored by the mudflat all night last night. They started biting about 3 this morning but I was too tired to stay up much past that.I had my poles baited up and I laid down on the couch on the pontoon.Buttons and Kitty Chaser probably did a little giggling at my expense after they started biting. They reeled my poles in while I was asleep and they sat there catching fish. They wanted to make sure they caught more than me.lol I'm going to make sure I eat more fish tonight than them to make up for it...
