Stupidity has reached a new level.
It's a river for god sakes. Blameing fishermen on the introduction of a naturaly occuring predator that will fill any niche it can is stupid at best.
To think they can eradicate it and blameing the lower numbers of redbellies on it solely is stupid as well.
To try and introduce a gene or other genetic abnormality into the species is stupidity of the utmost.
Imagine they add a gene that causes a defect in the species that eventualy prevents breeding or proper growth. Some of those fish migrate or get hauled to new areas. Interbreed with others. If it's a river the affected fish can end up anywhere.
Playing GOD dosent usualy work out for the best.
Dimwits need to just open up the season and limits on flatheads. Fishermen will take care of them.
