How many of you like to go gigging? Gigging season opened on the 15th of this month.I used to do quite a bit of gigging myself when I was younger. You don't know what your missing until you eat some golden redhorse scored and deepfried,Mmm makes me hungry thinking about it.The creeks and rivers back home used to be full of them.In the 80s the sucker population took a big decline due to alot of the illegal gill nets being used to take the fish but I don't think there is alot of gill nets being used anymore and I imagine that the suckers and redhorse are plentiful once again.I hope to get the chance to go at least once this fall but if not I am sure I will at least find my way to a couple of the fish fry's.

Still got my ol pitchfork gig, but it's perty rusty. Man, I loved that. We used ta spend days on the back water. That's the only legal giggin they was round here. P B was a 37 lb white buffalo. Water used ta cut around the old powerhouse at Osceola, and ya could see the buffalo, carp, an gar leaving a wake, if they were big enough. Out in the flats ya could hear 'em wallerin around like a bunch of hogs. Last time I went that I remember was in the spring of '73.
