The place is the arkansas river in a town called texas city colorado. if you do a search on the most dangerous float trips in the us theres a good chance this is #1 or #2 . i have not floated it but i have fished it. the methode is simple . i used a 7' medium/lite spinning rod with 6# test clear berkley xt line. a size 8 hook with a split shot above it and good oldnight crawlers. the current is swift wadeing is impossiable . the fishin is from the bank. simply walk up and down the bank drifting your bait into the eddie currents behind partialy submerged rocks . it doesent matter if the rocks are in the middle of the river or 2 feet from the shore line. There will be a brown trout in every eddie. be prepaired to do battle . these fish are not big but they are acrobats . they are out of the water more than they are in the water for the firts minute after you hook one. oh yeaa one other great thing about them is they taste great cooked over a camp fire. if you ever get there try em and when you catch your self giggleing like a school girl as you watch the fish on the end of you line tailwalking across the water remember i told ya it was fun.
