fished 6-25and 6-25 on the beaver tail water. dawn finds heavy fog on the tail water this time of year. for fly fisherman sstripping a wet fly is your best bet in the early am. caught several rainbows on a size 16 soft hackle . colors used were olive body with partridge hackle and yellow body with partridge hackle . yellow being the most productive. the fog burns off between 9 and 10 am and the bite gets tuff . the water below the dam is Gin clear and trout are spooky . the best bet for trout after the fog burns off is a size 18 or size 20 zebra midge fished under the smallest strike indicator you can find. bait fishing was very productive down river in the deep holes during the afternoon .best method of bait fishing is drifftting a micro jig tipped with a wax worm under a clear casting bubble. power eggs tipped with a wax worm fished on a carolina rig is also very productive . gaught , cleaned , fried and ate my limit both days.. several more were caught and released.
