i am dieing to eat a mess of goggle eye. unfortunately the fish in my local creek"powell mo." are wormy. now i can eat alot of things but a wormy fish just aint on my menu. wonder if any of you guys can head me toward some place to get a mess of goggle eye.

I like them too,I haven't had any since year before last.I used to catch them in the gasconade and beaver creek a tributary to it down home.the early spring was the best time to catch em it seemed like.I used to hit the banks at the low water slabs.You could wad on a night crawler and fish the rootwads and find alot of them.I know of a few nice holes with alot of big rocks where they love to hide too.

Goggle Eye is another name fer Rock bass.There a nice eatin fish a little bigger than bluegills.

No problemo,Back home it was a favorite pastime in the spring hittin' the creeks for goggle eye and bluegills.They make some good eatin with taters and hushpuppies.

Don't sweat the worms, frying kills them...lol The big and little niangua rivers, meremac, osage, sac or about any other that has current, clean gravel and brush piles will hold goggleye. Most of the major impoundments have them as well if you can find em.(Target brush piles with current). Used to fish for em every spring soon as the dogwoods started to bloom on the big niangua. Just slaughtered BIG red eyes. Then the giggers kind of got into them heavy one winter and really screwed things up. Have'nt been in several years. Need to go down and check it out again.
