I will be going to Table Rock the middle of next week. I will be staying in Hollister between the dam and the 86 bridge. My favorite is the smallmouth but I will settle for black and Kentucky bass as well. Any tips out there for this time of year?
In the afternoon, I plan to take my fly-rod down to the trophy area in Taneycomo below the dam to cool off and try for some trout.

The last few days down there they've been catching Kentuckies and some smallmouth in about 30' of water on drop shot rigs with zoom finesse worms in green pumpkin color and watermellon candy.
For the trout try green or pink micro jigs and white 1/16 oz jigs.

sounds like good advice to me. you might want to also try something like a wool headed sculpin about size 10 in the afternoon for trout. the trout will be slow in the afternoon but you can get some reaction strikes stripping a big sculpin or muddler minnow type fly. good luck.

Well, here is the report from last week. The bass fishing was very slow for me at T Rock. The camp owner said the bass were indeed on their summer pattern and suggested night fishing as an option. Since I was alone on this trip, I decided night fishing was not advisable. I fished from sun up until 10 AM, then hit Tanneycomo for the rest of the day. I had pretty good luck at Tanney. I fished below the dam and caught about 25 fish per day, with the exception of Thursday after the rain. After the rain quit, I went down above the first hatchery outflow and from about 7:30 PM until well after sundown, I caught a fish almost every cast on small white jig! It was unbelievable! Friday in the early morning I returned to that spot and caught another 14. Went further downstream above the launch ramp and caught another 14 on dry flies from noon until about 3 PM. Great week for me.

When we fished Table Rock for years in the early part of June, smalleys bit Road Runners quite well off the points of coves in 8-15 feet of water. My nephew swears by road runners tipped with a minnow. I've tried this and never caught squat!
