I'll be goin fishin on Pomme De Terre in late October. Any hints for bass and crappie tactics? I usually don't do to good in the fall. Maybe cause I'm drivin the boat around so much so the wife can look at fall leaves that I don't have time to find out what to fish with. Let me hear the guaranteed tactics n baits for fall fishin! Please help this leaf looker!

I've heard there is some good fishing there but I haven't tried it myself.Good luck with it.Here is something I had ran across about fishing there. The state park is a popular destination for anglers eager to experience the excellent fishing available in Milford Reservoir. Walleye concentrate along the face of the dam in early April to spawn, then move to the flats at Farnum Creek and mud points near School Creek. Nearly all of the brushy and rocky coves contain crappie and largemouth bass, but coves in the Rolling Hills and Curtis Creek areas are traditional hot spots for crappie. White bass and catfish are plentiful in a variety of locations, and smallmouth bass frequent the face of the dam, as well as rocky points in the lower half of the lake.

Top water, jigs minnows would be the best bet.The water should have turned over recently due to the cooler temperatures. That should put them in a feeding frenzy for a while.Right now the water is getting mixed up pretty good so you might catch the fish at about any depth for a little while because the temp. is pretty even in the water.

OK Gang Its that time of year again and I'm a heading for Pomme De Terre next week. Should be able to start fishing about next Sunday. Any tips for crappie, bass, what the weather is or any other useful info? Also may try to thin out the squirrels with the 22 Mag. Any good squirrel cleaning or cooking tips?

Well fellow fisherman, I let you down. Fishing for scales stunk. Strong wind, cold and rain really messed things up for me. Only got on the lake 3 times during the whole trip. And that was just afternoons. Couldn't do any night fishing like I like to. Tried nearly every lure in the box with not much success. Had the most fun on a crappie tube (black head, chartruse tail). Caught lots of little bait sized fish and one nice crappie on it. The shad were schoolin and being eatin by the bass but the bass wanted the real thing only! Had the most fun catchin the tame ones in my pond.
Didn't get time to squirrel hunt either. Good thing I didn't buy a license, didn't even see one on the place for the whole week. Good thing I guess, maybe they'll leave my door trim alone this year.
Whiskers: I did a pretty accurate fuel mileage check on my Bass Buggy (40 HP Merc) 2.5 MPG is what it gets running 4300 rpm with about 10-15% running 5000+ rpm (w.o.t.) I know I told you that I got better MPG than that before, sorry, poor memory I guess!
