Showmebob, did you get any of the big snowstorm that hit around the Denver area today? It looked like a pretty good one on the news.I know it's not unusual for the area but it seems a little early for a major hit like that.

Hey Bob,is it warming up out your way yet?Things are starting to warm up nice over here. The lake here is only 1 foot shy of normal pool right now.I haven't made it down to Stockton or Pomme yet but I think my Brother-in-law has already been fishing them.I haven't talked to him lately to hear if he's done any good.

Howdy Whiskers Just got back from Pomme. I think your bad luck has rubbed off on me. While fishing on my boat my Bro-in-law suffered a stroke. I got him to the clinic at Hermitage as fast as I could. He was flown to Springfield. By the time they got him there he was fine! They kept him for test and the next morning he has another stroke! He is still in the hospital doing rehab in Springfield. His left side wouldn't move at all. He is getting better now but it may be a long time before he can land a fish.
My fishing camp was reduced to a day and a half of fishing. It was fun and we were just figuring out the bite when the sheet happened. Pomme was 5 feet high and the bite seemed best on anything with a orange or red head and white body and tail. The bass were hitting off the rock bluffs on crankbaits. You had to cast within a foot of the bank or they wouldn't bite. Crappie were (what we caught) from 14 feet to shallow in the back of coves.
Overall the trip was a lot of stress and a little bit of fellowship and fun...........there's always next year!
When I was in MO the trees had had all the new leaves frozen black. Its warming up here, the grass needs cut again and the leaves are almost all out here in town. Spring is here, summer is near.
Stay healthy, fish often and laugh lots, life is short.

Last night one of my sis-in-laws had to have 2/3 of her small intestine removed. She is critical, her kidneys have shut down.......when it rains it pours.

I hate to hear that about your brother-in-law and sister-in-law,I hope they get better soon,it sounds pretty serious with your sis-in-law,let's hope for the best.Yes,when it rains it pours and that is the way it's been around here this last year for sure. There is always something like that going on it seems. Last weekend my 7 month old grandson was running a high fever and he had a seizure and they had to call an ambulance and rush him to the hospital. Turns out he had pneumonia and he is recovering now. Last year I didn't get to do much fishing due to my health and I hoped this year would be better but I'm in worse shape this year than last.I've decided I'm going to make the best of it and just get out all I'm able to and sometimes when I'm not.We never know how long we've got so one must enjoy what they can.

I hear ya BwJ,I have too and I try not to gripe too much.I figure every day I wake up above ground is a good day.I do hope I have ALOT more days like that though.I like to tease the older grandkids and tell them I want to live long enough for them to change my diapers....lol Cooder (my oldest grandson) was just telling me yesterday he hoped he could still put out a garden when he was 94 like my great-grandmother and I told him I hoped he could too,I would be looking forward to eating out of his garden he was 94.

Well Gang, my sis in law didn't make it. We had her funeral in Denver. My bro in law just got home from Springfield Fri night. He is happy to be home. He can stumble around but his left hand and arm aren't working wortha sheet. Feel sorry for him. At least he got to catch a keeper bass before he stroked. He ain't much of a fisherman but is a good guy. I'm headin for MO for the family reunion and vacation the end of the month. Trying to make up some fishing time that I got shorted in April. Hope all is well with the rest of you. If you want to send symphony emails to bro in law here is his address. heaterdude@hotmail.com He might get a kick out of it. He has no idea of this forum. If you do send him anything please keep it upbeat. He has been told to "use it or loose it". Motivation is everything to him now. Thanks a bunch. Prayers are accepted! ;D

I hate to hear about your sis-in-law.Once the organs start shutting down though it's hard to recover from it. Glad to hear your B-I-L is doing better.Hopefully he will be back in top shape before long. Maybe your trip this time to Mo. will turn out alot better. The water should be in pretty good shape around the end of the month. We have had quite a bit of rain, which we have been needing so maybe the lakes will get flushed out some.I went out here yesterday for a while but the fishing wasn't so great.Truman Lake above me is pretty full and they were running alot of water through. The current was pretty stong and there was alot of debris floating down the lake that washed out of the coves when they got filled up.It should be in good shape after this though.

I was over at the B-I -L 's tonight and helped him to get the e-card you guys send. It was really neat and he said to tell you thanks a bunch. I also wanted to say thanks for keeping him in your prayers and sending him the e-card. Family reunion and some fishing are coming up the first of June for me. HOPE THIS TRIP IS BETTER THAN THE LAST ONE! Plan to start the fun with a trip to Wheatland for the Lucas Oil Speedway events on Sat night, reunion on Sun and Fishing on Mon. Please have all ticks and chiggars removed from the state before my arrival so the dog and I can stomp around in the woods without worry. I use Frontline on her but they don't make it for humans! Hey! Maybe if we could come up with something that works for ticks and chiggars we could be rich and afford all the fishing stuff we really need (or want).

Your welcome and I hope he's feeling better. I've never been to the races at Wheatland,in fact I didn't realize they had a track there. Is the track at Wheatland on 54 or is that the name of the track there on 65?I haven't been to any races for a while.I used to go to the I-44 speedway in Lebanon but haven't lately, they have another track outside Lebanon now too,I think it might be the mini-cars but I'm not sure. Ticks and chiggers might be bad this year, the ticks are off to a good start.I put out the pellets around my yard but the grand-kids and the dog keep getting outside the yard and dragging them in anyway.

Wheatland has a world class track on Hwy 54. They televise races from there. You won't believe the facilities there! Its the best track, show, and racing I've ever been to. You gotta go racin or at least drive in and have a look at the track when you drive through Wheatland. www.lucasoilspeedway.com/The track on 65 is called the Dallas County Speedway. Its a hole in the wall compared to the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland. Even with Frontline on the dog she still comes home with at least 2 dozen ticks. They attach and only swell up a little. I think it repels some also.
