There are two kinds of walleye anglers in central Iowa. One group considers a boat behind a pickup, a couple of tanks of gas and a map of Minnesota essential to a successful walleye fishing trip. A lot of truth in that article. I don't target walleyes a whole lot, but we pick up a few every year catfishing. I know a lot of guys who have caught bigger walleyes around home than guys who go to Canada every year. The numbers might not be quite as good, but it's a lot cheaper.

That's the way it is here.I have never went out and targeted them but I catch them by accident now and then.My brother-in-law gets several of them while he is fishing for crappie/white bass. We ate a mess of walleye, crappie, white bass, and catfish a week or so ago and they all tasted mighty fine.
