No I haven't heard from him.I haven't seen him around any of the sites he hangs out.I've talked to several people down that way without power. There's about as many people without power down there as there is people with power. My son in lebanon is without power and so is one of my aunts north of town and one of them south of town.Been 3 or 4 days for some of them.My son has been on a waiting list for 3 days for them to come get a big tree off of his house that fell on the electric wires. We've been lucky here we haven't lost power yet.Me and Ozark Kitty Chaser got out yesterday for a while but we had to park at a neighbor's about a mile up the road and walk home. There aint no driving down the mtn. to get down to my house. We got up it barely when we left but then it rained while we were gone and left a couple inches of ice on the road. There wasn't any walking down the mountain either...lol As we started walking down Kitty Chaser got down on all fours and started sliding down the road,I walked through the woods so I could hang on to the trees....

My son had tom go to Buffalo last night and deliver a load with his truck and he said things were a mess there,no electricity anywhere and most all places were closed.I think most of the worst stuff was around Lebanon and Marshfield(where Wolfman lives).I found out today 2 of our rental houses was hit pretty bad in lebanon.Trees down everywhere, took out the electric service, ripped the meters off the houses, knocked the weatherhead down through the roof on one house leaving a big hole in a (previously) new roof and ruined most the new shingles on one side. Our renters are staying with friends and relatives but I will have to go see what I can do with it Thursday.I have to be in town that day to go to court on the wreck I had about a month ago.The insurance won't cover this ice damage so this is shaping up to be an expensive winter for me so far,In the last 4 weeks Buttons and I have wrecked 2 new vehicles and now 2 houses with major damage and we're only 3-4 weeks into winter.I would say I'm ready for spring but I don't want to wish the tornado season on us any too soon.....

Oh,forgot to mention,my aunt on the north side of Lebanon that I mentioned a couple posts above here,She has been out of power since Friday. They were riding it out at home by the fireplace until tonight when it caught fire. The chimney is totaled along with the attic and probably major water damage where the fire dept. put the fire out.At least they did get it out which was surprising, she lives about 15 miles out of town. The water can't be helped,it goes along with them doing their job I realize,it could have been much worse.

Seen on th news last nite fer folks hit by th ice storm ta keep track of expenses an losses due to th weather, ice , trees, power outage, etc., just in case of insurance. So even tho ya may not think yer covered, it wouldn't be a bad idea to hang onto reciepts. Ya never know!

That is a good idea.We keep track of all that regardless of insurance, for tax deduction purposes. If I put so much as a doorknob on one of the houses it gets deducted.
I just spent the last 2 days up there working and cutting up trees that were down.I got the last hotel room in town last night, wouldn't have got it but they had someone call in and cancel a room while we were in the lobby.Every hotel and motel in town was packed with all the work crews in town working. The actual damage to the houses wasn't as bad as we were first told, after I cleared all the trees and brush away I was a little relieved. The only thing I have left to do is install a new weatherhead for the electric service to one of the houses and hook the meter back up,then replace about half a square of shingles.I have waited the last 2 days for the electric company to unhook me from the pole/main line so I can hook it back up.They got a big part of the town back online today for a little while before 3 substations went down due to the falling ice. Marshfield,Lebanon, and Fort Leneard Wood I think were probably hit the hardest by the ice it seems.I had more ice on the ground up here but they had alot more in the trees and lines down that way.I called Wolfman yesterday on the phone to check on him(he lives at Marshfield)he was running on a generator he had to buy, they had power temporarily but it went back down. I took some pictures of it all but I'm not sure if it really shows the extent of damage everywhere. After I get them into the computer I may post a few if they turned out,I haven't looked at them yet.It was the worst ice storm I had seen down that way since the one we had back in 73'-74',the damage I think was worse this time though possibly.
