Yeah but from what im seeing thats about average for the newer radiosin the 18 mile range. Course that includes earphone/mics, ac AND dc chargers. Earphone/mics or the charger itself is about a 35 dollar value in itself. I bet they go up before long or they drop the extra stuff and stay at 99 bucks.

Thing abut cell phones hoot is they keep costing you. You got your phone to buy and accessories, the activation, your monthly fee and a 2 year contract you got to pay to get out of. Plus roaming unless you got a more expensive plan plus running out of minutes, down time due to no signal in about half the state plus batteries.
Walkie talkies you buy em, no monthly rates, no activation fees. no dialing...just push a button, no contracts or roaming to worry about and like cells most everybody has at least one set that hunts. Still got no signal areas and batteries to worry about but overall their cheaper in the long run...lol
Now as for men they don't need no batteries unlike womens best friends...lol
